I heard something like that. I doubt if they'll do anything about it. Their just trying to put people off downloading. It's the illegal porn by paedophiles they should be targetting not peole that are trying to download music. The likes of Madonna and U2 have enough money not to be worried about a small percentage of people illegally downloading. I use itunes myself now. I used to use the illegal sites but the quality isn't as good anymore. A few years ago when there was winmx and kazaa it was pretty good. I found the replacements like bearshare good a t the start but not so good now. I hope it doen't apply to movies though as I watch alot of those online.
Help Keyla in her fight with cancer. Every little helps.
It could happen to any of us.

Too true the music industry is avastly overpriced and bloated industry. The u2's and the madonna's out there are multimillionares they have made their money. If eircom wanted to do something right instead of banning of music downloaders they should regulate child porn,a far more pressing concern than some songs.
I have lived a life of regrets.

not too sure about what eircom and eventually other ISP's will be chasing up but I did read this earlier:

Probably having to do with the ammount of downloading slowing up their servers.

    thats my take on it,

I don't think so, I remmember reading somewhere that it is more difficult to prosecute an Irish individual for illegal downloading because of our network structure or possibly our laws, can't remmeber which, but it was simple for them to sue the ISP's for allowing the content to be downloaded via their servers so eircom is the first to take action and be seen to try and combat the problem, possible it is a compromise for threatened legal action they may have already recieved
