maybe because most people here probably support english teams and if most of the "irish" team were good enough they would be playing for them too. i don't really care for international football much prefer club level.

It's all part of a 'support your neighbour' campaign, that was spawned from recent Eurovision Contests, apparently.

I think most ppl do not want to see england win the world cup because they will go on and on like their last win 44 years ago.Its the same with the majority of welsh, scottish and northern supporters, england come across as having a god given right to win it and that's what pisses most ppl off.
I have lived a life of regrets.

I wonder if we can vote for who should win the tournament based on who the most entertaining team is a la Eurovision.??

Imagine how Brazil's neighbours feel about them banging on about winning the World Cup 5 times.

England invented the game of football, have the best league, the best players, best supporters and an Italian manager, of course they deserve to win the World Cup.

I see that Terry Venables predicted the other day that England will win.

I reckon that they will be involved in a penalty shootout at some stage.
Out of the last 4 World Cups that they have played in they went out on penalties 3 times also the same happened in Euro 1996 and Euro 2004 so what odds on it happening again this time?
