Yeah but with a broken record you can lift the needle or pull the plug out. You guys are either going on strike or not. Whats stopping it?

maybe afraid of productivity not falling by much?

Cue the lone parent child cut off when the child reaches 13.
Anyone who is a parent knows it get more expensive in the teenage years to look after a child not cheaper.

Also if this goes through without a whimper in a year or two they will be attacking the Childrens allowance at 13.
Maybe FF have reasoned that these offspring of fallen women should take up employment at 13 and repay the state (in the form of income tax) for the amount that has been spent supporting them as a result of their mothers' sinfulness. Nothing that this government could come up with would surprise me anymore. Maybe they could open up a few old mines to give these kids employment when the payments to their mothers are removed.

If this lot somehow win the next election, we'll end up enjoying the sort of living standards that our ancestors enjoyed under that great founding father of FF, Eamon De Valera.

Quite right Doozer and as Smarty pointed out, there are'nt any jobs anyway. So you ask yourself, what work can these single mothers do that pays enough money to enable them to put their kids in daycare........the government don't know the answer, but every member of this site does!

Then after a big hue and cry, they'll probably criminalise the indigenous prostitution that they created. More money spent on the courts, the police, the prison system and of course, the boys and girls with the nice white wigs who went to the same schools as the clowns who created the mess.

The next question you'll probably ask is...."Who is going to pay for all of this?"....and there's no prizes for guessing the correct answer.

What we have in this country is a vicious golden circle of criminal stupidity. If we had lived under 800 years of Fianna Fail misrule instead of 800 years of British misrule, we'd never have f**king survived it. All that's missing now is the potato blight and another famine to solve the problem for Fianna Fail.

This is being introduced over a phased period of 6 years and it dosent mean that they will be excluded from social welfare payments but it is an
attempt to reform a section of welfare that as u all only know too well has been highly abused with fraudlent claims

Put Eomann O Cuiv on the dole for a fucking year and see if he comes up with this shit
You see there were plenty of jobs around in shops/restaurants & Irish people wouldnt do it preferring to sponge off the Government 'sher I'd get the same on the dole for doing nothing' attitude too many wouldnt work to warm themselves these are the people who are being targeted but it fucks everyone who now find themselves on the dole through no fault of their own Well Lone Parents recipients are really taking the piss over the years Why should taxpayers subsidize peoples life choices? If u want to have a child off u go but dont expect the state to support it, every child has two parents let the parents pay not the state oh ya 'Lone Parents' are top of the housing list too while the boyfriend(father) drops in now & again -to balance my post the Government committed another 2Bn to Anglo Irish Bank today......

I have seen thousands upon tousands of euro being literary flushed down the toilet.A former employer of mine used to do electrical work for the council. This would entail rewiring, fixing socket appliances etc.Onthe job one day we got a call out to a house where every socket was shattered with a hammer by the occupants and had to replace them with new ones as they watched us.See anything wrong there. These people have been abusing the system for years, you know the people i am talking about. They should have been fucked out of that house so fast there heads would still be spinning and the house given to someone who a little respect for others.Oh the shit i have seen literally and figureatly.
I have lived a life of regrets.

If there are fraudlent claims then it is up to the Department to investigate and prosecute, its that simple tarring every single parent with the one brush is not on either.

6 years ? Anyone with a child over 18 next year in full time education will be cut off from next year so it is going to effect ppl receiving it at the moment.
