Well then wouldn't a nutter just hit a women to show her he was more powerful etc, and not have sex with her? Surely rape is also about men who are not getting sex, so they force themselves upon women? But that's just a my simple view of rape, I'm sure it's more complex.

Did all of Moy Ross's troubles suddenly go away? The wars, shootings, stabbings, muggings etc.. The money could have been for their families back home. many women turn to escorting to make a quick buck to send money home for family. They don't enjoy it, but it's money and money buys food etc.

Yes, it was probably a safety issue staying together, but gardai can lie in court too, so the Judge will believe any codswallop they say. "blah blah organised criminals bla blah blah" etc, yes, there are probably criminals running such operations, but not ALL brothels are run by pimps.

And another thing that should be remembered. If you remove all the escorts out of the country because they make money and the guards are obviously jealous because the girls make more than them, you INCREASE the likelihood of rape. You don't hear much about rape anymore on the news, why? Because probable rapists, can now just go to an escort for sex and pay and they get what they want for 30 mins or whatever, whereas before, if we were to depend on irish women, we would all be masturbating ourselves to death and some guys would probably snap and then rape someone.

Gardai can be so stupid sometimes. Some of them work with pimps (as in Athlone) and some think they are doing the right thing and they just cause other different crimes.

Unfortunately people think that by signing a confession admitting to keeping a brothel makes things easier....it does not, at least not for the escort. The situation is not easy, it's a nightmare, but do not sign something contains something you are not guilty of...such as brothel keeping. Deny such a charge if untrue, tell the truth, ask for legal advice....read the advice here on EI....but do not sign a confession if it is not true....
