Citizens of the Republic are allowed to enlist in the British Army and are usually assigned to one of the two Irish regiments; however, the British Army is forbidden from active recruitment here.

My favourite quote from that article is...........

"When people registered as unemployed with the jobs club receive such a letter, they are obliged to call in and enquire about the job in question. If they fail to respond to the offer they risk being removed from the register, with potential loss of dole payments."

You have to admit that conscripting the good unemployed/unemployable/criminal citizens of Moyross into the British Army would solve a lot of Limerick's problems.........plus the lads have plenty of firearms experience. The Taliban had better watch out when that lot reach Helmand province.

Another disgusting example of how forgetful we are as a culture.

This makes me very sad indeed.
