    Default Irish Airspace Open Again!

... but they say it might take up to a week to clear the backlog. Now the airlines are bitching that the civil aviation authorities around Europe were too severe in shutting down the sky for so long - a knee jerk reaction to a loss of profit?

Anyway, bring on the touring escorts!!!

If the airspace had not been closed and if planes had suffered engine damage from the ash cloud you can just imagine the flak that would have been thrown at the authorities.
Anyway this will give RyanAir and other airlines an excuse to increase their charges again.

Sorry, to be the bearer of bad news, but the first tourist landing won't be Escorts, but lowly Americans arriving into Shannon courtesy of British Airways

Thing about people complaining that its a knee-jerk reaction is that if the responsibility was on YOUR shoulders to make the decision, wouldn't you rather air on the side of caution.... but now its over hindsight is great

    Yes, of course...........

Easy to say that now with no lives lost...........

If they had let planes fly and there was an accident then what would they be saying???

Oh, they wern't strict and severe enough..............Boo hoo hoo.............

I'd rather be down here wishing I was up there, then up there wishing I was down here..............
