Failing that, let head office bail them out in the same way as the ECB is bailing the rest of us out. These people have absolutely no shame whatsoever. At least Japanese business executives/politicians who screw up big time, recognise their loss of face and humiliation by weeping when publicly confessing their wrong doing or whatever.

the Vatican may be forced to help. That story was put out to test the mood of the public to the idea of parishioners paying a few extra bob from their small weekly pensions and the reaction will ensure this will not now come to fruitition, however this will not stop die hard church goers giving an extra few quid at the plate every Sunday.
the Vatican have 15 billion in their reserves, thats property, investments, bonds and cash, under the agreemant with the Italian state , the Vatican pay no tax on their investments, they do pay tax in other jurisdictions . So they have deep pockets and can fund their own reparations .

the sickening thing about this story is that they brought it to the public domain, it shows that they have not learned how far they are from public opinion and how out of touch the Bishops and Arch-bishops are with their flock...
