    Default suspended sentences

is it right that A judge has suspended sentences for 64 people involved in a riot in a Co Westmeath housing estate in July 2008. how much will it cost us as the Gardaí that brought in a public order unit and dogs, and the armed response unit as well as a helicopter to police the case.

Its costs 100,000 a year to keep a prisoner in a prison
I read somewhere I could be wrong on that correct me if someone knows better
    So we have four options

    Option A
we build cheap prisons kinda like WW2 POW camps or else
    Option B
    we need alternative punishments
    Captial punishment
    fines
Public humliation ( on web and street)
    Stripping of assets
    Denial of benefits.
    etc

    Option c
    option A and B

    Option D
    carry on

Anyone got any more ideas for Option B?

    thats 5 years*64 prisoners * 100,000euros = 32,000,000 euros
    or 6400000 a year

The justcie system should be following in this order

    1: deter crime
2: redress and justcie for victims
    3: rehabliate and reedcuate crimnals
