  1. Default Bad Day Friday

    Friday 5th

    9.00am

Bring my car (Passat) to the main VW dealer (Cork) for a service for "€99"

    12.00pm

Phone call from Dealer requires a "more intensive service add another €100 to the original 99

    12:30pm

The so and so is gone in the require which also needs x y and z done to it which now adds another €1100 to the service which included €40 to tell me that my oor needs a new lock
(later that night hit a huge pothole and buckled my front wheel with new tyre)

I suppose a guy like me finds this ironic. It's like visiting some escorts your promised one thing and then it all adds up.

I have spoken with a few people who also found last Friday appeared to be quite unlucky, anybody else share my view?

keep your car away from main dealers. They will fla you everytime. Find a guy thats good with cars and let him do the work. I have a friend who does any work on mine and i save a fortune and the work is excellent and i mean save a fortune. He can get parts real cheap.

    he wont do anal though,
    Westside.

PS by the way, some things could be wrong with a car but ned not be done because they wont affect the running of the car as such. A main dealer wont tell you this.

You learned a very hard lesson there as westlife points out , be very wary of main dealers . Did you not query the need for the more expensive service when they called you initially ? And after they did that additional service and found a problem , did they not call you to inform you that a costly replacement part was needed ? Or did they just carry out an unauthorised repair and later bill you for it ????
I have no signature at the moment
