    Default Firefox Question

i used to use the usual internet explorer but switched to Firefox in the last few months. When i went online the old way ,i used to clean up the machine by using the internet options under tools and delete temp files, history etc. Where is this on Firefox? I tried and tried and cant find it. Its a pain in the hole doing it under the folder in the c drive and an even bigger pain in the hole condensing and cleaning up files.

You are right to use Firefox rather than IE in my opinion. After using Firefox the last few years I find it very difficult to go back to Internet Explorer. You should be able to select Tools, then Clear Recent History and Everything from the drop down list. Alternatively (and a better method IMO) is to select Tools, then Options, select the Privacy tab and make sure Clear history when Firefox closes is ticked. You could also select Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session which will have the same effect.

A handy application for cleaning up your IE and Firefox history is CCleaner (Crap Cleaner).

It's there Wes, I have mine set to delete the usual three, every time I log off, sometimes that can be a nuisanse, sometimes it can save your bacon.

Go to tools, click Clear Recent History and that's it. To fine tune it to your preferences, click options and spend half an hour sorting that lot out. Don't know why it wouldn't work for you.

    Delete that.

(Jimbo got there before me with a more comprehensive job, go with him).

You probably don't have the option, but Safari has "Private Browsing" mode, popularly known as "porn mode". There's nothing to delete, since it never writes anything to the disk. I've checked carefully, and it really does what it says.

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.
