New 10 reg cars

Has anybody noticed the amount of brand new 10 reg cars this year? I've seen a serious load of them!! I thought we were in a recession?? Or are new cars selling for fuck all these days?

The figure for 2010 for Jan is 16,615 cars, 125 motorcycles and 2505 commercial vehicles = 19,245
The figure for 2009 for Jan is 15,877 cars, 318 motorcycles and 2439 commercial vehicles = 18,643
The figure for 2008 for Jan is 41,668 cars, 412 motorcycles and 8810 commercial vehicles = 50,890

So there aren't that many more but it probably cuz the 10 reg stands out more

I've noticed alot of mercedes cars the E180 and E200 range, i suppose now that about 12 grand has been slashed from them and with the government scrappage scheme in place it is making sense for the folks who want to buy them.
Personally i think anyone who buys a brand new car in Ireland needs a mental health check-up, get yourself a two year old car of the same type and avoid the huge tax that is lumped onto the selling price, don't forget that the tax is there to protect our indigenous car industry against those pesky cheaper foreign car makers, now there's a funny one !!

i got one new car and never did it again. You get a real good secondhand car for half the price. Its not worth the money even if you have twice it. Anyone buying a second hand bike is a retard. I got an 1100 cc cruiser with 24,000 miles on it for 5000. Its worth about 7000 and new its about 20000.

701 Mercedes Benz cars registered in 2010. E Class is not on the scrappage scheme, only CO2 bands A&B
