Default Ya, just heard this news........

I never really got The Catcher in the Rye thing, a good book but I hear people say how it changed a generation, didn't see it myself, a lot of Holden wanting to "shoot the breeze" which lead to a bit of a beating from a pimp if I remember correctly.........

So much for paying for time and companionship there...........

A good book non the less...........

    91, a fine old age.................RIP...............

I can see how u would say that it wasnt earthshattering in toays context but this book
was written in the fifties in very conservative times
In todays world instead of being the Catcher in the Rye he would probably push the kids over the cliffs edge
    Oh how times change

He hadn't written anything since the 60s and was very reclusive. Catcher is a hell of a work (goddam_, but should a writer be considered great merely through one famous work? Anyway, hell of a legacy either way...
