    Unhappy Loveless Marriage

I read with some surprise that in a survey of UK couples in 2008 just over half of men said that they were in loveless marriages and that 59% of women would end their marriage with their husbands if they could be sure that they (and their children )were financially secure.

All rather sad don't you think.

    Default Well

it doesnt surprise me one bit. Alot (i reckon 70+ %) of ppl marry another not because they are the right person but because they are afraid of being on their own.If you marry someone for any other reason than they are your world and everything in between, then you are wasting your life, their life and heading for a bundle of misery.

It has to be unconditional love and marraige. If it isnt its useless. One will want to have power over another , or one will want to stop another from doing something or visa versa.

Sure when you get married and espeicially when kids come along you will have to give and take quite abit but this is where marrying the right person comes along.

thats how i see it too, dr. but surely this must be very rare to have two-way unconditional love?
nature does not demand two such loving parents in order to concieve, evidently.

i can only speak for the way i see things but i would consider myself very very different to 99% of ppl in that i am never one for following the flock. What i mean is i would never buy something just because the neighbours have it or i would never do something just because everyone does or say something just because everyone else does or because its expected of me.

Most ppl are the opposite. They meet someone and get head over heels with this "this is the one for me" stuff.I dont ,i give it a chance and see. Also there are things in my life that i will never stop doing and a woman i marry needs to understand this but there are also things in a womans life that i wouldnt expect her to stop just because of me.

Its when ppl try to change a person or try to stop them from doing something that they hold dear or have high unreasonable expectations of that person ,is when the problems start and if the boot isnt put down on it from the start ,those probs will never stop and grow and cause problems.

The way i see marraige is its a big step yeah but it isnt the be all end all of life.I think that two ppl can be happily married and life life like they want to ,to a degree.Obviously the one thing that does go is the single life but surely a person knows this?

    or do they?
