Default Suggestion for Advertising Section... Att Patricia-Mods-Escorts.

After reading the many arguments of late about rule breaking/infractions ect in the Ad section.
May I be so bold as to suggest a re-design of that section.

Here's what I think would solve most of the problems with the "Call me Baby" bumping.

    1. All Ad threads should be automatically locked. So there would be no bumping.

    2. If a punter wants to ask a question or say/comment on something there could be a reply box that instead of adding a message to the thread, would send it via PM to the escort.

    3. Then if the escort feels the need to reply or answer that comment/question, they could do so by editing the original Ad. Which would not 'Bump' the Ad.

What do you think ? Guys Gals.

    Hi Dave,

This is basically what we have been discussing doing for a while now, and I was going to be making an announcement about this later today. But seeing as you've brought it up, I might as well jump in and discuss it now.

I have to say, personally, I've always been somewhat against not letting clients reply to escort advert threads. I've thought why not, maybe they have a question, maybe others would like to hear the answer to the question too, why stop them asking it?

However, many people have said to me - both escorts and clients - that they think ad threads should just be that, no replies are needed, if clients want to ask a question, that is what the PM system is for. So many people have said this to me at this stage, I think maybe it is time to give it a try. If we try it for say a month and it doesn't work, we can always reconsider.

Also I'm aware at the moment, some users feel rules are being applied unfairly in the ad sections. Mods are trying to delete replies to escort advert threads that they think are just bumping the thread up for no good reason, but they are getting flack from all sides for doing this. Escorts and clients who get their posts deleted or are given infractions are saying the rules are too harsh on them. On the other hand, where mods don't take immediate action to delete a post which could possibly be considered bumping up, others are complaining "This isn't fair! Why didn't you delete that!" It's a lose lose situation for mods, whatever they do they are either too harsh or not harsh enough and somebody isn't happy, which isn't ideal to say the least.

The problems with implimenting this are mainly technical at the moment.

I will outline them in another post shortly, just checking a few more things first.

    Cheers Pat.

I think if the editing period is left open, it would allow escorts change the ad without having to post a new one.
So they won't be tempted to put a new ad up ahead of whatever time limit is set.
