I think it is not out of there reach. The two Diarras are crap and if we get some set peices i think a 1-nil win and scrape through on penalties can be achived. I would love to have a midfield of Andy reid Stephen reid stephe ireland and duffer but that is not the case so andrews and whealen need to do the business.

I think everyone is forgetting the sheer dominance the french will have on the game, look how they controlled the game in Dublin, in Paris they will completely control the game and I think nicking two goals is out of the question

we are relying on some of them playing shit to win.Sort of unreliable really.I put it this way.With the top teams playing shit we still would be very lucky to make the quarter finals and still wouldnt have a hope of winning the cup.Im no football expert but i know enough about it to understand that any team that relies on other teams playing bad in order for themselves to do well ,hasnt got much business in the world cup.Be nice for them to get there though and im not begrudging them the chance but they arent cup material at all.

Only 2 years until the Rugby World Cup which I think will be the next time any Irish team will be in with a chance of winning something on the world stage.
