    Default This country is unbelievable

Fat Harney wants to charge people on medical cards the poorest and possibly the sickest people in our community a charge for every item dispensed.

they want to cut the dole and child payments

Currently they are talking 50 cent per item which may seem not a lot but if someone has 10 items then thats 5 euro extra they have to pay.

    meanwhile....................

Irelands biggest tax cheat Denis O'brien pays fuck all tax.

The horsey set are not taxed for fees for stallion breeding.
A fee for a good horse can be €100,000 + no tax great for some
Clown says everything is on the table yet horse breeding never mentioned

Peter Bacon has recommended that rich investors who built too many fucking hotels in the first place should be allowed sell off the hotels early without paying back revenue any generous tax breaks that they claimed.

Great fucking country this, when is the revolution taking place ?????

    Default What is needed !

--- Oh for that nutter Michael Stone (furnished with Grenades) to be let loose in the Dail.
Only in Ireland would be put incharge of Public Health an OBESE Minister whom clearly does not hold her personal well-being a serious priority.

I agree as with all these charges they bring them in low and then hike them up so it is only 50 cent now then it will be 75 cent a Euro etc etc

Part of the problem with at least some medical cards is if the person is borderline on the income threshold they get the card on a discretionary basis if they have a medical complaint and they have to reapply each year if they don't "use" the card enough during the year then it will be removed the following year as they don't need it.
People want to hold on to the card especially older people who are afraid they might get sick at any time and on a fixed income could not afford doctors, prescriptions and drugs.
So they get prescriptions they don't need to show the HSE they need the card.
Its the Crips and the Bloods all over again

    Angry Revolution? Yes please!!

I'm reading Matt Coopers "Who Really Runs Ireland" at the mo' and its just sickening what's being going on for years. The tax breaks that the wealthy, developers, etc got is almost unbelievable.
The likes of Mc Creevy, Ahern and co. have sold this country out looking after these people.
It is actually sickening to read it!

I can't understand why people keep voting these corrupt b*****ds back into power.

    I'll join a revolution - no problem!

maybe it's the Irish culture. I mean maybe we put up with crooked politicians because finally they are OUR politicians.

We have a long and varied history, I think it's interesting to see that the level of outrage is quite regarding an issue which is absolutely appalling and that targets the very people who need to be protected.

    Something has to happen

It's starting off at 50 cents now but it will increase in the years to come. Even at 50 cents it can come to alot if someones on alot of medication. How many charges are they going to bring in. The majority of all these charges and taxes are hitting people that's on social welfare or just lost their jobs. Two hundred euro or whatever it is can only stretch so far not to mention where their going to get the mortgage money from.
Help Keyla in her fight with cancer. Every little helps.
It could happen to any of us.

Default The problem with this idea is

it hits the ppl that are the sickest. We have ppl with cancer who need lots of medication, ppl with heart problems who need constant medication and this medication. These are the ppl worst hit which is wrong and of course once again the poorest in society are hit the worst.

this is the prob with this,

    Default And it Cuntinues

"SENIOR AIB executive Colm Doherty, who will shortly be appointed managing director of the bank, will not be forced to take a salary cut to meet the Government’s cap of €500,000 for top bankers.

Mr Doherty’s annual salary is expected to remain at about €633,000, the amount he was paid in 2008, after his imminent promotion to the new role of managing director at AIB, according to sources with knowledge of the bank’s plans.

Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan set a cap of €500,000 on the salaries of chief executives under the bank guarantee last February, lower than a base salary of €690,000 recommended by a Government-appointed committee for the State’s two biggest banks."

OK so he can beat the cap because he is being called a Managing Director rather than a Chief Executive ???

What a load of bollox once again this puts the credibility of Lenihan and CO into focus.

Once again the rich are lining their pockets in this country at the expense of the poor and sick.
And they want to give a Nurse or Guard a pay cut, who probably put 10 times more work in than any of these rich wankers sorry bankers.

As someone who works in tax I feel like I have to point out that if the Government leave loopholes they will be exploited (that's what I am paid to do).

Still, does he really need all that cash? I mean, is €500,000 a year not enough? fucking hell!
