Its in our constitution that the most vulnerable & marginalized in society should be protected & the idea of taking money off people getting 2O5euro a week is extraordinary, these are the same people who gained NOTHING from the Celtic Tiger while the parasites that are developers/bankers gambled our country away in the pursuit of greed, having said that to reduce the SW bill the government could do a few things
-there are too many wasters around who wouldn't work to warm themselves do something/anything to get them working no work no money
-cut the childrens allowance 170 a month u shouldn't be paid for having children its exploited, yes foreign people latch on to it too did u know we pay dickie money to foreign children born here but now living back in their country
- cut the rent allowance 110 a week we have our own exploiting it but now foreigners are onto it in their droves(I know believe me)
ideas on SW ? 476m saved in SW fraud last year

Most people do pay taxes , but your right it iks a disgrace to cut both socail welfare and cut the health budget. The country is fucked so lets make the poorer worse off because of the mistakes made by the rich.

A lot of dodgy people on the dole already but there are a lot of people who lost their jobs due to the recession that are signing on too.

You cant cut dervices like childrens allowance or rent allowance.

how are those who sign on supposed to feed and cloth themselves and children with all these cuts and also pay thier rent or mortgage.

a social welfare system reflects the economy it is operating in so if there is a little money to go around offers have to be made, so you can either ask people to contribute more to it or cut expenses. I am happy they cut expenses

Oh so thats what has this country in ruins is it . Yeah what ever westlife . This recession has nothing what so ever to do with the public service pay , how did you come to that conclusion ? So the ambulance workers , the firemen , garda , civil servants are all to blame for choosing to work in the public domain rather than become electricians , plumbers , accountants . Some sections of the public service have seemed to go thru the stratosphere in terms of pay , but thats no excuse for the war that seems to be breaking out between the 2 sides , the private being the bully in this case . Next time you see gardai doing their job , undermanned and fighting a losing battle against crime , or ambulance men doing everything they can to save lives as best they can , please feel free to remind them it's their fault they earn what they do that has this country in ruins wont ya west , wont ya .

Let me point out that it was a throw away remark.I dont mean to say that the public service caused the recession.What i mean is that most of the public service arent productive enough to earn the pay that they make.they are simply flaing the situation.
