Default This does nothing but drives the stuff more underground

I understand police have a job to do but this is a ridicolaus waste of resourses. The industry will never ever go away and countries like this need to look at the laws that exist elsewhere such as Amsterdam which have proven to be more successful.

A friend of mine who is just back from Amsterdam (he goes every year)commented that the Red light area is like a tourist attraction and has a certain respectability now.Compare that with countries like this. They just drive it further underground. The further underground it is driven the better likeihood of abuse going on.

They seriously need to change legislation on the sex industry in countries like this.

I agree, but the people who run agencies here aren't and never wil be in the same league as the people who operate out of Amsterdam. If they did try to setup in Amsterdam, they would be booted out. They're first-class criminals, who cannot even function in a situation like Amsterdam

maybe its because the legislation never existed to be given a chance to function in a situation like Amsterdam.

All i know is this. The industry is wasted on taxes. This industry would be a good means of taxation and the ppl running the operations would still make decent livings.I also know that here in Ireland there isnt enough of a police presence on the streets. Its possible and i have seen this first hand to drive from Cork to Dublin and not see one single policeman. This is a fact.

Whats done in this country only makes matters worse in the long run at the expense of the short term victories.

My view is as long as nobody is being harmed or abused. As long as its not doen in the open society like st girls do and as long as taxation is in place then what the hell harm is it doing? What ppl wont know or dont know wont trouble them. The ppl that want to use escorts will continue to do so regardless of operations in place and the real victims here are once again the girls whop are criminalised and looked upin by society as cheap which is bullshit.

I say view it as what it is,a job.Legislate it and give escorts all the same rights as everyone else in society. Now i know your probably going to say that they do have the same rights which is fair enough but what saying is with a gov stamp of approval.

Like i said im not a punter and im not saying legalise it for me.Im saying legalise it so resources can be better spared and an additional revenue is brough into the revenue streams too.

Amsterdam is no picnic either and is still very much controlled by Pimps
they just rent out the windows and put ladies working in them too,u can even see that some
parts of the district are much sleazier than others, once u move away from the very centre
there appears to be alot of African and Carribbean ladies working in those windows, and if
u just observe for a while u can obviously see some unsavoury characters (pimps) around
keeping an eye on their investment. Would be of the opinion that many of theese are trafficked or at the very least coerced.Besides there are moves ahead to restrict the amount
of windows with a pretty large reduction. There seems to be an issue there with the fact
that a few individuals hold the ownership or leases on alot of the windows and if u walk
around there u will see a big drug culture aswell as the the Cafes

i understand all you say but my point is there is at least some control and its this control that is actually going to enable them to restrict as you say. Here there is the attitude of wiping it out which is impossible to be honest because as long as ppl exist the industry will too.

Like anything else there will always be the bad with the good.Thats life but this will be the case regardless of wether its legalised or not but at least with legislation there would be a start and as i said some element of control.

Well i agree it will always be there but i think the problems are when like Amsterdam the
scale is too large.Think u need it in a smaller scale not taking over whole areas of a city
