How many people actually voted.
Because when i saw the result 1.5m voted yes and about 500k voted no
I know we are a small jisland but still.
Anyway thank god thats over
No more yes/no campaigns for a while
The level of understanding of the treaty displayed by the no voters and no campaigners here is apalling.........
Bobby Sands???
The 1916 patriots???
Irish freedom???
Pride in our country and a respect for those that lost their lives defending and gaining our freedom???
What the hell are you all on about???
These things bear no relevance to this treaty and our membership of the EU.............
Now this is a typical example of the scare mongering and lies spread by the no campaigners and swallowed hook line and sinker by people who have no idea what the treaty is about..........
"It's far easier to fight for principles than to live up to them."
L
the fact remains that yes voters have given more power to the EU parliament and have put our politicians ina position of less accountability.Oh i forgot ,they are more accountable to the EU parliament.Give me a break.Who says the EU parliament arent corrupt?Politics has for a long time become a business. Its no longer about the rights of the so called constituants but a business. Its all about power and money.the very fact that around 60% of the worlds wealth is owned by about 10% of the ppl says it all.
Im afraid Irish freedom does bear resemblance to the treaty. We have given more power to the eU parliament and that is at the expense of our power IE Irish Freedom.Freedom of speech, freedom of democracy, freedom of expression. All fucked now.
You yes voters are under the illusion that the eU are a lovely parliament with our best interests in mind and of course will stop the corruption also.
your in for a surprise,
Westside.
