    Default We must vote Yes

We must vote Yes on Friday. While I would agree with Wests comment on American companies, I cannot agree with his statement to vote No to keep our self respect. Ireland has gained massively from Europe and much of our new and improved infrastructure is a result of EU grants. Our funding of NAMA will be underwritten by the EU and our best chance of avoiding the IMF stepping in, is helped by a strong position in Europe. All this BULL about minimum wage, conscription into an EU army, abortion etc. are all just red herrings perpetuated by GOBSHITES.

You don't hear much about the 86 brave Irish soldiers who have given their lives for the cause of peace and the other close on 100,000 that have served in UN missions with distinction all over the world, but when there's a political angle to be gained they'll drag up the EU army..........

    Shamefull..........

The key word here is has.Ireland has gained from membership of the EU which will not be withdrawn if we vote NO.However i cant see how we will gain from Lisbon. The larger countries with a greater power will gain but they will do things to suit themselves not to suit us.

Speaking of gobshites.Your not suggesting that we believe ppl who, depsite an emergency budget, continue to abuse expenses? What about the fact that they are quite happy and content that the clerical abuse is ,for the moment forgotten about under the cloud of our so called recession?

I stand over what i said.Anyone who has voted NO already and votes YES this time around has no self respect and has ahand up their holes controlling them. They should be lined up and shot.

Oh by the way, vote YES for jobs.Yeah jobs for other EU nationals but not Irish.

Lisbon is a load of bull,

Actually the minimum wage one has been misunderstood the argument is not that the EU can set or change Irelands minimum wage but that rulings by the EU courts could undermine and effectively make the minimum wage irrelevant or force Ireland to drop it to allow Irish companies to compete.

This is based on the Eu ruling that EU companies can bid for contracts and bring their own workers from their own state and pay them the minimum wage in the home state not the country they are actually working in

EUobserver / EU trade unions condemn court for minimum wage ruling

This effectively means that a Polish or a company from any other low wage EU country could bring workers here and pay them the Polish minimum wage for example or even a multiple of the minimum wage there which would still be far lower than the Irish minimum wage.

The Irish government would then be pressured by IBEC CIF etc to drop the Irish minimum wage so they could compete etc etc.

Sorry Luther but that is irrelevant to an EU army or European defence or closer ties to NATO they died on UN duty on UN sanctioned missions they did not give their lives for the EU or for the militarization of the EU.

Very few people would disagree that the EU has been good for Ireland but voting NO is not a vote to leave the EU we will still be in the EU on Saturday no matter how the vote goes.
Scaremongering about the IMF does little to advance your argument when you are complaining about red herrings and bull.
