70-year-old charged with child sex assault

A 70-year-old man has been charged tonight with sexually assaulting children in Belfast.


A 70-year-old man was charged with sexually assaulting children in Belfast.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The PSNI said the charges followed incidents in the north of Belfast city last Friday.

Detectives from the Child Abuse Investigation Team led the inquiry.

The man has been charged with two counts of sexual assault against children and one of engaging in a sexual activity in the presence of children.

In a separate case, a 31-year-old man has been charged with sexual assault on a child and sexual activity of an adult towards a child.

He is also due to appear at Belfast magistrates' court on Wednesday morning.
