Once you have a design in mind get the artist to "pen" it onto your desired area there are special skin felt tip pens this allows you to "sport" it for a few days and have a right good look at it without the pain etc.
In a day or so if you would like anything altered or changed go back to the artist and make any changes because there is guaranteed to be something your not quite happy with......so far so good
right you perhaps made a few changes to the design and are well chuffed now the next step it to fire a few redbulls and chocolate down you and get it done for real.

I don't really want to talk to anyone I know about it, as I feel I want it to be a private thing, so I have questions for those of you forumites who already have tattoos. I'm aware of the need for the parlour to be reputable and sanitary etc, and have narrowed it down to two places near where I live. I also know that I'll have to talk to the artist beforehand and can get any concerns I have out of the way, but I thought I'd mention it to your helpful people

How much are we talking, ballpark, for a design that I mentioned above?
How much pain am I likely to feel?
How long does the procedure take?
How long before the tattoo starts to fade?
What if the artist bungles the design and I dislike the end result?
How long before it heals and can be sported openly?

    Cheers in advance...

As everyone says it depends n the size,

Pain is like sunburn, youll be ok.

    Again depends on the size

Iv had my tat, for about 10 years now, They do fade after a couple of years but you can get the touched up.

First get them to map out the design for you and if you like it get it, worst comes to worst they can always go over it again,

Cant remember how long, but not to long.

Nearly all tattoo artists are as clean as they can be.

They never use the same needle twice etc, but one of the best Iv found was Halluncinagenic art on Broad Street. Bullmans is way too expensive, he is just chargsing you for the name as well as the job

    Default red bull nd chocolate

in regards to elles coment are the red bull nd chocolate to keep ur blood sugar levels up so u dont pass out that would be my guess on it. im thinkin about gettin a tat aswell to cover the ball of my shoulder but im to chicken shit i think if im doin it i want to do it right. i see mates of mine wit small tats that they hate and wish they got something a bit bigger thats why id love to get something done to start on the shoulder blade and finish on my arm covering the ball of the shoulder. i think the pain would be cruel though anyone had something like this done??
