money than through our links with the ECB and thats a fact
Actually alot of our problems stems from the avaliability of cheap money
i mean the manipulation of interest rates. To be able to lower or raise them to suit ourselves.

A small economy will never really be able to do that as all will depend on what ure central bank can borrow the money at

we cant do it at all now and rely on the larger EU powers to do it in a way that suits us and that wont happen because they will suit themselves. This is the whole problem with the EU.It simply gives the larger powers greater power over the smaller powers.

This phenomenon is hardly confined to the EU............

    Thumbs down Gimme money first...

I'd vote Yes if the EU gave 5 million euro to every Irish citizen. Then they could create their ugly super power of the United States of Europe.

History always repeats itself. The USE will come to pass with or without us. But it will also fall appart. Europe is full of too many countries with too many agendas. It won't work. It will fall eventually.

I think the EC was a better idea. It was about trade. The EU is about control. 5 large powers controling everyone else. Its discusting. This treaty was rejected by us. It was rejected by other states too but was passed through parliments. Thats not democracy. Thats manipulation of democracy. The EU with its leaders care nothing for us or their own people. These are Politicians that are even further removed than our own. They should not be let govern us or anyone else.

    Fuck them. I vote no.

We are at a huge disadvantage within Europe between our location and our population. Trading with us is always going to be more expensive and I believe we should we be treated a little differently because of this. But I also firmly believe the larger block countries will oppose concessions to us for our location seeing it as unfair. So will the Irish voice be even heard within Europe or will it be ignored. Lets face it whether you agree with the Lisbon Treaty or Not you cant ignore the fact that OUR VOICE HAS BEEN IGNORED ALREADY WITH THE NO VOTE

So is this how we will be goverened in future we will be asked to vote on something say the death penalty and answer with a no but it will not be accepted so a spin is put on it and we will be asked again and again until the govering power gets the answer it wants. This is what really galls me we are being dictated to indirectly by a goverment we did not vote for.
