its a shame really that the very ppl that apparently were leaders caused so much hardship and trauma in the world down through history.

My liking for Buddhism is simpy because its teachings fall more in line or closest to my own beliefs.I wouldnt by any means look down on a practising catholic although i would admire their resolve and patience.

Piggis a long serving member of IIE like me, but don't hold that against him

As for Jake he hasn't been seen for months. I think he's stuck down the Dave cave

I'm going to get excommunicated for saying that
Help Keyla in her fight with cancer. Every little helps.
It could happen to any of us.

Default I also love the idea

that alot of buddhists have so much control over themselves like the shalon monks and the link to martial arts in the east etc.It just seems like a good way of living for both a perspective of health and also well being. My brother went to monks and he was speechless.

    and he never shuts up,

    It's ok - I forgive you.

I understand that you have been hurt, but you must cast-off the shackles of bitterness and begin a new life of love and tolerance on E-I.

As for Jake, I don't think he's speaking to me at the moment.

    Ah, well...I'll survive somehow

Default Life is what you make it

    Wester,

You wont find any peace in being a buddist. I have read a lot of people on these pages talk about happiness and mental health and religion and spirituality and conscience and finding answers.
Why have I. These are the boards of an escort website. Theres an extraordinary amount of unhappy people on here, eg Mr. west, nice girls, the banned guy. Hints at it from some of the mods.
Everything in life and I mean everything in life can be solved by looking at the positive of it and not taking things too seriously. if that doesnt work there are excellent therapists and doctors and psychs who can help you help yourself. Never look back, always forward. Life is beautifu and we can and we wll will get there at some point.

For the last while i have being studying buddhism and doing meditation ,the reason being that i am highly strung and cant stay still either. While this is great it would also be great to be able to quiet my mind at will.

Since i have no kids and am not married ,i am looking into leaving the catholic church officially and converting to buddhism although i am not shaving my head.I am however willing to do back flips (i can already) and various other types of zen and meditation.

My q.Has anyone here converted to another religon? Is anyone considering converting to another religon or belief?Like i said i was born a catholic but never really believed in its teachings,i do however have tremendous faith although not along the lines of catholic.

I can buy the orange cardigan no probs,

I was born into catholic family - baptised - communed - confirmed - confessed then at about 17/18 - - a thought occurred to me - and once you begin to think thats it - religion is destroyed by thought -

there is no god - no afterlife - no good - no evil - no spirituality -

so no i did not convert to another religion - but i did convert to a new belief system

the only things one can believe in with any sort of logic are the sciences with a heavy emphasis on physics or maths. these at least are real - everything else is merely rumour.

I am of the opinion that people believe what they WANT to believe rather than what is true/ verifiable.

I do NOT like what I believe in. its not cuddly and nice - its cold and not comfortable to believe that you and all you love will die and rot and be forgotten - but hey c'est la vie.

I dont care if I offend some. Your beliefs should be based on logic not passion. In what makes sense not in what makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

ps Of course I could be wrong but I have never seen evidence to prove otherwise, if anyone can provide such evidence I will be the first to change...

    Thumbs up Darwinism.

I'm not religious at all. I think people should believe in whatever they want.

Its true to say that Christianity is in decilne in the Western world but its converting larger numbers by the day in the third world. So don't be fooled by the "decline" as people here think.

As for other religions well I'm not a fan of organized religion. Nor am I one to believe in an all supreme being. In fact if a supreme being did exist I doubt he'd give a fuck about me anyway.

I'm all for the theory of evolution and Darwinism. So my addvice is to go and hug an ape. Because they're our cousins after all.

Oh and tell all those crazy anti-evolution heads to go and FUCK-OFF!!!
