    Default New signing for Arsenal

Arsenal have signed Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelan from Ajax. He can also play at left back. Lets hope he's the solution to our defensive problems. It must be a new record in recent times to sign a player so quick. I just heard of him 2 weeks ago. It usually drags on all summer. Now for some more new signings, another midfielder hopefully. And more importantly Van Persie to sign a new contract.
Help Keyla in her fight with cancer. Every little helps.
It could happen to any of us.

Never heard of that player before so Wenger has done a good job to snap him up IF he's any use , wonder what the fee was ? Hope Van Persie signs too , read with horror the other day that United wanted him , with 70 odd starts in 5 years .It would take him another 53 yrs at that rate to equal giggsies tally for us , and with no sign of giggs retiring yet it could be closer to 60 yrs !
I have no signature at the moment

    And especially for Mike Riley

The fee for Vermaelon will rise to 10 million I think. There must be appearance targets etc.

As for Van Persie he has had 79 starts in 5 years in the premiership, but also 36 substitute appearances. But overall in Europe and the other cups he has had 122 starts and 55 substitute appearances scoring 63 goals. He's had alot of injury trouble in that time. Also he wasn't first choice the first few seasons. Look who was ahead of him Henry and Bergkamp. It's not a bad record considering all this.
