Thread: Alcohol

    Default Alcohol

    Paddy Kenny here.

I am again looking to raise an issue that I think may be prevalent amongst us lads here on EI
and that's alcohol abuse or misuse.

As anyone who s read my previous posts knows, I have a few psych probs I am dealing with, with great help to be honest and so far so good.

The last crutch is the booze..

From those I have talked to here and some grils I have met(see earlier post!!) Alcohol misuse is a prob.

I am hoping meds give me the self discipline to not drink, but what about the rest of ye clients and ladies..

    How much of a crutch??

    Anyone tried AA??

What can you do on a Friday/Sat night if you have 10+ years of binge drinking on Fri and Sat nights??

How common is alcohol and escort use??

How common is it for the ladies to be very reliant on alcohol??

    All thoughts welcome

    Ta

Paddy if you have recognised that you have some problems, you are on the way to sorting yourself out and I commend you for that.

Unfortunately a lot of people in Ireland have a drink problem. I'm not sure it is any more common amongst escorts or escort clients though.

The hardest thing for me is friends of mine who have a drink problem but won't even admit it and try to get help. What are you supposed to do in that situation?

I've not been to AA myself or had a need to as although I like a drink, I'm lucky enough to have never been addicted to the stuff, but I know some people who have been to AA and found it a help. Different things work for different people I guess, but I think AA is always worth a try.

Ireland is poor on social activities for non-drinkers as much of the nation's social life does resolve around drink. I have quite a few friends who don't drink or don't drink much though, and so that makes life easier if you are wanting to avoid drink yourself I think, as you can go out for dinner as a group or whatever without it being too much about drink.

If you can get into some sport or going to the gym that would be great I'm sure. I admit I don't, but I am going to start soon. I'm just chronically lazy when it comes to stuff like that!

    Good luck!

    Thanks Pat,

Your not just pretty and successful. Your quite smart and filled with common sense too!!

Yes, I know I have a problem with alcohol. I have felt for me it goes hand in hand with
    visiting ladies.

After a few, I have the confidence and I also have the interest

I am only a young guy and so I have spent a third of my life in clubs,
I hold down a very good job and its always beena wednesday - saturday (late night) activity
I also managed a bar in a nightclub in D6 for a few years

This country, as you say, is so backward.

It's backward in terms of legalising prostitution and its backward in terms of other things to do than drink.

I too am on the fitness route. I have started swimming and kick boxing, but only with the meds in the last week. I am also determined to look, but not act too frequently with the gorgeous ladies on this website.

Thank you for your kind reply, on an unusual subject, when you are so busy

All the best on your fitness buzz. I bet you will be rippling with muscles all over shortly!!

PS Smarty, I was the life and soul of the party, that was the problem!

Hi Paddy, you seem to be an ok sorta bloke...Dont mind stupid comments by stupid people...Its true when you admit you have a problem you are on the right road....Remember if you lost your job thru drink you will have fuck all money and could end up on the streets believe me i have seen it happen before....And always remember you dont have to have drink when you meet girls...Think about it when you have drink on its hard to remember everything and the girls dont like punters being pissed anyway..If i pay i wanna remember everything for my few quid...and remember all they want is your hard earned dosh....!!Sure hope you get sorted but you alone have to really want it!

How many questions out of the twenty have you got to answer yes to, to show that you have a problem, is it seven. I think AA runs a similar programme to GA, both very worthwhile.

    Good Luck Paddy.

I never drink it, I just don't like it. A couple of years ago when I was younger I intentionally got myself drunk at home privately by drinking 6 cans of Coors Light. I flopped my arms and legs around for some reason, vomited a couple of times, slept and felt funny when I woke the next day. Even the few times I drank moderately I never got a "buzz" out of it, the opposite if anything.

It just affects some people Paddy Kenny, I'm glad it doesn't affect me. My problem is processed foods (which I unfortunately gorged on tonight stupidly and for no reason).... but there are MANY people afflicted with this other horrible addiction. Many people of all walks in life have a terrible alcohol addiction. So bang goes your theory of the uncouth, undisciplined, hedonistic, animalistic punters and escorts and welcome to reality and the 21st century.

Paddy baby - quit farting around you prick - i have had/ and continue to have a serious alcohol/gambling addiction- it affects my life and that of my so called loved ones.

but i can tell a genuine case when i meet one and you aint it.

    So Fuck Off !

by the way i dont want a fucking'cure' i actually enjoy it - tried sobriety and all that shit and you know what it so Fucking sucked - its boring

    So Fuck Off !

I am going to be dead by fifty which is way better than living ""properly"" and dying an incontinent semi vegetable at 90. Incontinent and with half a brain having outlived all my friends and most of my family.

    So Fuck Off !

ps they only call it an addiction because they dont do it - ergo its an addiction - what a load of fucking crap - its just me having fun FFS - but so many people are just too sheltered to be able to tell the difference.
