Trafficking as a means for labour exploitation is a completely different ball game!
Certainly you are entitled to that opinion and you may even have superior information, but I believe that traffickers do not care what life or circumstances their victims endure. Ultimately governments are the main cause of trafficking by creating, or allowing to exist, conditions that favour the activities of traffickers. If every person was guaranteed a decent standard of living in their home country, less would fall into the hands of traffickers, but there would still be prostitution as prostitution is not dependent on trafficked persons.
My wife caught me wearing ladies underwear and threatened to leave me.
So I packed up all her clothes
    And left.

It's disgusting taking advantage of a vulnerable person, no law will stop me getting the authorities involved if I come across a lady working against her will.

Except the law that causes you to avoid meeting her in the first place.

I'm very careful who I see, but if I did come across a lady in distress, there is no way i'd leave her in that situation, the thing is, i'd get too involved.

    philipkntz.
I've seen it first hand, several friends and relatives have been forced out of this country to find work, often illegally or into the hands of agencies that helped themselves to a large part of their paypacket. The irish government participated by reducing work opportunities and social welfare entitlements, especially to under 25's. If Ireland is genuinely interested in reducing people trafficking they should start by keeping our own people home.

    I completely agree with this.
Part of why i posted the thread initially was to try and sort some clarity.
It is a complicated issue and i wouldn't say i have superior information. In fact, i'm not sure what i have is information at all.
I have supported many many sex workers over the years.
I have only supported a handful of people who had a history of being trafficked for the purposes of sexual exploitation.
Only one of those had the papers to show they had been officially recognised.
The rest were not even interested in bringing charges because they had managed to get themselves out of it.
I suppose, i have some information and i wanted to try and share it with everyone.
    My experience is very limited.

Agree Casman on your post. It like you said. You take a bullet for someone or save a damsel in distress, if feel she in danger.

I back you up on your statement Casman. Like you said, if I to know a Lady is trafficked or working against her consent. I would sacrifice myself to save her from that nightmare she enduring.

Sometime Cas, it take person or a people to speak up and out on other behalf. To which if your gut feeling say or feel something wrong, then action by law, is better then walking away or pass it by.

Always go with your conscience Mate, on what right or wrong !
