I'm watching a documentary on Sky Atlantic about Venezuela. It's absolutely heart breaking, children eating scraps from landfills. People dying in hospital due to lack of medication,one man died because there weren't any intravenous needles for a drip. I hope for their sake the current president is overthrown soon but in the meantime it's the average people that are going to suffer the most

All these Latin American places have a culture put in place by Spain (and in the case of Brazil,by Portugal).Spain had its own jackbooted military dictator till '75(Portugal till '74).These places were colonies with European elites lording it over native and mestizo populations .Oil is not the problem,self governance is the problem.
The BBC is not the problem,the befuddled minds of the online generation is part of the problem.
