You have a good point, but also if we look at knife crime in UK it is not mental health it is inequality and a sense of no hope thats translates into anger then violence . If the inequality gap becomes too great you have the Guillotine effect as in French Revolution response. I believe that the inequality gap is being made more serious due to the access social media and media in general now gives to the lifestyles of the Mega rich . 50 years ago not so, now in your face is a click away .

Also USA biggest mass killer was not it seems insane , bet you cannot remember his name, its Stephen Paddock .

How is the inequality relevant to that piece of excrement in NZ? well the Nazis got going on the back of Economic disaster in Germany

If you look at the rise of Fascism it parallels inequality /economic depression the economically down trodden are its principle opportunity . The rise of ISIS et al, thats a different story in some aspects but they get a lot of Western converts, not all but a lot from economically down trodden areas.

i was once trying to help a person with severe aggression, a mentor of mine suggested I viewed the violence as an uprising , I abhor violence in any form but once I looked at this person in that way we found a way. However in NZ I suspect we have a fanatic no more no less ,Andres Breivik is not it seems insane .
