Max Verstappen gets away well and is building up a lead
Pierre Gasly retires on the first lap with gearbox problems.
Sergio Perez takes second after Charles Leclerc put up strong defence. Red Bull one-two at the moment.
Lance Stroll crashes into barrier. They are close on this tricky circuit. Safety car.

Leaders pitting. Leaves Lando Norris in front for now.
Possible unsafe pit release for Sergio Perez. Fernando Alonso had to brake hard to avoid contact.

Sergio Perez up to third but is under investigation for that unsafe release from the pits. And he has been given a five-second time penalty.
Max Verstappen retakes the lead.
Oliver Bearman, eighteen years old and in his first Formula One Race, up to tenth and in the points.

Lewis Hamilton needs to pit for fresh tyres but cannot now or he will come out at the back of the field. Mistake not to have pitted under safety car.

But both Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton have old tyres and without a safety car soon, will likely finish out of the points.
Sergio Perez has a five-second penalty but is likely to be more than five seconds ahead soon.

Lewis Hamilton pits. Comes out ninth behind Oliver Bearman.
Lando Norris also pits. Comes out in front of Lewis Hamilton.

Oliver Bearman now seventh but expected to be caught by Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris in three laps. They have fresher, soft and faster tyres.

Sergio Perez, second
Charles Leclerc third and gets the extra point for the fastest lap.
Eighteen-year old Oliver Bearman holds on to seventh in his first F1 race. Unsurprisingly, he has been named driver of the day
