Missing reviews

As a number of posters before me have noted, the review submission process isn't working properly. Even if you get the message "Thank you for submitting an escort review..." your review may still be lost. Contrary to what some people have suggested, it's not just negative reviews which go missing. I submitted positive reviews for Janet and for Diana M on Sunday and got the confirmation message. Today Sarah tells me that neither review can be found. I've resubmitted Janet's. Diana's tour has ended, so I can't resubmit hers. This message isn't meant as a complaint, however. I have a number of concrete suggestions for reviewers and staff:

Reviewers:

- Type the text of your review into an editor and save it in a file. Then copy it into the review window. This makes resubmitting relatively painless.

- Check to see whether it appears. If it's not there within 24 hours then bug the staff.

Staff:

- It would be nice if we could check on the status of our reviews. Programming this would require some work, but it would allow reviewers to catch missing reviews much earlier and resubmit. In particular, there would be less danger of the escort's tour ending before the problem is noticed. Also, we wouldn't have to bug you nearly as often.

- I think Pat is getting sick of hearing this from me, but we need a system which allows us to submit reviews of escorts who have just finished their tours.

I forgot to mention above: Janet's still around for a week and she looks much better than her new pictures. I see my review has now gone through, so read it and give her a call!

I think this is the key here, I have submitted reviews in the past that were not posted but i am convinced it has something to do with the amount of time you spend writing the review, the couple i posted that i wrote quickly always posted first time but the one's I pondered over and spent a little extra time on were always the ones that didn't post, but when i re-submitted them using cut and paste from a word editor they posted straight away..

The system doesn't allow you to review escorts whose listings are suspended - these should be in a different category to those escorts who have NEVER advertised on E-I. Also for touring escorts it doesn't allow you to change the location.

IMHO the review process is central to the value of this site. I rarely if ever visit an escort unless she has been favourably reviewed (though this isn't foolproof, see my bad experience with Irish Fiona!!).

I WILL NOT visit an escort who doesn't allow reviews.....

I think you're right, Victor, that the reviews, whatever their faults, are central to the site. After all, there are many escort advertising sites on the Irish market. What makes this one different is the extensive review database.

And you're right, anon163, about slowly typed reviews being much more likely to vanish. The two I submitted on Sunday were both quite long. You can judge for yourself from the one which eventually, after retyping the whole thing, made it through: Escort Ireland - Escort Reviews - Review 011385 - Irish Independent Escorts, Irish Touring Escorts, Irish Escort Agencies. When I resubmitted it I used an editor as suggested above.

The number of reviews going missing may be quite large. Sarah says that they are now getting 15-20 a day rather than the 30 or so they used to get. Business is undoubtedly slower with the recession, but it can't be that much slower.

Obviously the problem needs to be fixed. In the interim, though, I think it would be helpful if reviewers were warned on the "Irish Escort Reviews: Submit a Review" page.
