If you meant anyone bi, gay or straight it would have been best to use the word “anyone” so as to avoid confusion. If you meant it in sarcasm then a rolled eyes icon would avoid crossed wires and save you from having to wiki the term sarcasm at a later juncture.

Also you use the term troll in reply to him even though he has only posted a handful of times and hardly conducive to attracting new posters or new people in chat room which many members who you have had regular interactions with have expressed concern about so as mod I ask you to not brand people who are only in the door and have done nothing to warrant being called a troll.

Personally i read Stewie,s post just as he says what he,s intended it to say, with no reflection as to cornelius,s sexual activities. when i read cornelius,s post i had a look at his posting history. 1st corny has a 10" dick, then wants to nannyed like a baby, and now corny is a prudish bi-sexual. i think corny-lius is inconsistant and just the bit familiar with the forum, (hence the comment about anna s) to be seen as a brand new member.

I read it as meaning something else and the inclusion of a rolled eyes icon would have changed how I interpreted it. The meaning of any statement can be altered by the choice of smiley that is or is not used. That is the whole point of having them as proven by Bbj and mouse and I arriving at differing outcomes from reading the same post. Its all very well to in a later post say it was said in sarcasm and that is was directed generally rather then at one person. We can all do that to suit or argument as 20 20 vision is a great thing..

To the issue of is Cornelius an established poster presenting to be new. That problem is as old as the hills but I am looking at the bigger picture here as just because he or anyone new is familiar with the boards or has formed opinions on its posters does not mean they have not been reading the boards for a long time and formed opinions about people but only now decided to post. I am not saying he is who he says he is. My point here is only that as soon as any new poster here utters one word about anything or anyone from before the time they joined they are instantly labeled as being not genuinely new or having an axe to grind.

More often then not that turns out to be the case but there is no law that says a new poster cannot have read the boards prior to joining or posting and know stuff that was said or is barred from referring to anything posted before his or her join date for fear of being labeled a fifth columnist. How are we to foster any hope of genuinely new posters from the galaxy of members that never post if we keep doing that and perhaps be putting them off posting in that zealous pursuit?.

A join date is not some impenetrable barrier to anyone knowing or commenting to what happened before that date. I or anyone can go back and read posts since before we joined but does that mean if we quoted from those posts that we must be trolls?

It is a self fulfilling prophecy that forum will die if we keep treating new people with such suspicion and behaving like we are some little private band unto itself and condemning them just because they know what was said before they joined. It is not a sound argument and this your guilty until proven innocent vibe is bad for the overall health of the forum. Who the hell would want to join in when they know they have to act like they were just born when they join and not refer to knowing anything said here?

That is why I hold an opinion of what any new poster may or may not be but as mod do not voice it.

This is not the French resistance and our lives depend on knowing if a new member is not a spy. It’s a flipping message board so cut him some slack until he does something worse then being able to read before starting to post.

I read it the same way QPH read it because Stewies post contained a quote from Cornelius, which to me suggested that his comment was directed at, or was a response to Cornelius....

Now a few other points..............

Tone and sarcasm is sometimes going to be difficult to show and detect here, that's why the smilies are there......................never the less people are going to pick things up in different ways..........

Every time a new user comes here, they are almost always attacked for one reason or another............... usually because they are straight away suspected of being some else under a different user name............... give it a rest..........

Oh this new user seems to know their way around very quickly........ or oh they seem to know all about what's going on here for somebody that just joined........

So what!!!! It is possible that they could have been using the site and reading the forum for a long time before they registered so give them a chance............

I've no doubt this happens, but if you suspect it, give it a while, see what happens, if it is a genuine new user then at least they haven't been attacked and frightened away and if it is somebody else, well they won't take long to reveal their true colours.......

And finally Stewie suffers from ALMS...... so we'll just have to accept that he has some issues..........

Usually, if you are suspicious of a new poster then the best policy is to ignore him. Do I know whether Cornelius is a bisexual man with a 10 inch dick, a desire to be treated as a baby, and no prior history on the forum? No. Do I care? No. If he is up to something then I don't want to play whatever his game is by replying to his posts. If he is genuine then there is no reason to reply unless I have something useful to say.

In the short time I've been here I've seen several of these new posters who seem not to be new. In all but one case my suspicions have been confirmed pretty quickly. It never did me any harm to wait, though.
