Mercedes has problem with Lewis Hamilton’s tyres.
He pitted early but this has put him out behind Sebastian Vettel.

Lewis Hamilton appears to have some sort of mechanical problem. He is reporting "power dropping in and out"

Ferrari win on the cards with ten laps to go.

    One for the Tifosi

Sebastian Vettel wins the Australian Grand Prix for Ferrari.
    Ferrari's first win since 2015

Lewis Hamilton might have had problems but Sebastian Vettel drove a smooth steady race preserving his tyres and once he had the lead he controlled the race.

The Chinese Grand Prix is on this weekend in Shanghai.

First and second practice is already over. Visibility was bad so medical helicopter couldn’t fly so for safety reasons first practice was effectively 17 minutes and second practice didn’t run at all.

Third practice is 05:00 tonight/Saturday morning and Qualifying is 08:00 Saturday.
    Race is 07:00 this Sunday.

Could be interesting because of limited practice and ability to set up cars properly and obtain data.

Conditions were poor at the track but the main problem was at the designated hospital in Shanghai where low cloud, rain and smog meant the helicopter was unable to land at the hospital.
Weather conditions are forecast to be better for third practice and qualifying but low cloud and rain are forecast for the race.
I don’t know that there is any precedent or regulation for a situation where qualifying cannot be held. It is usually a case where conditions are bad during qualifying (or the race) it is delayed until conditions improve or there is a break (or breaks) in the weather to allow qualifying to proceed.
