does anybody know if this crap has been passed through the dail yet, or when do we expect it to come into force.

Answer seems to be no, as in nobody (here) seems to know. Certainly not in force yet, and likely to be some time until it is. Hopefully someone knowledgeable about such matters will post.

It has been through the Dáil but not the Seanad yet AFAIK. It was scheduled last week but I haven't heard if it was debated or not.

It was debated and passed in the Seanad on Feb. 14.It has now passed both houses pf the Oireachtas and awaits the President's signature.
Probably expect it on the statute books in the next couple of months, someone here suggested June 1 as a likely possibility. On the way soon anyway.

i reckon a lot of the ladies will disappear from here, wouldnt blame them either, the cops will no doubt go on a rampage raiding places, easy pickings, easy money in fines. much easier that targeting the drug lords etc.
