PSNI did have concerns about it but that does not matter at all, once it was made law that is it.
Its all about statistics and showing that something is being done.

Sadly, it has been absolutely enforceable law since a few days ago as it has formally commenced, but we have heard nowt about it actually being enforced yet, i.e. no prosecutions so far! That will change!

Precisely, and An Garda Siochana was doing a splendid job with all those roadside alcohol breath tests.
    Fair play to them.
    Long may they continue.

I feel it will be an ideal task for those gobshites, sit all day outside an escort's apartment in an unmarked car and nab punters coming out (and technically also going in) and rack up easy fines and a shit load of overtime!

true but will be weeks if not months before any really happens, Its the ROI pushing this as down here they are not that bad but will change.
There has been just a few client arrests in NI but none were taken any further.

If you think the ROI "pushes very much, you don't know it very well.
Yes, if a client or two are fined and it is made public, it will set the cat among the pigeons.
But then one chicken hawk miles away is enough to terrify a flock of chickens.

From what I see ,This law is having a large effect already ,As in the fear which has been created , An example of this is a friend of mine went to an escort last night ,when entering and leaving every man he seen ,a car parked in an odd place he believed they were cops ready to jump on him ,He was even nervous of the escort believeing if he mentioned he was there for sex the cops would storm in , The combination of these thoughts etc ruined his experience . Will he go again ,Most likely not at this moment in time . Backward little country indeed

I still don't understand how can they prove that someone paid for sex. This is a law, so they need proof, they can't just say we think you paid for sex right? They need either a confession or they need to witness e.g. hear the deal with the escort and see the money changing hands or have that on record somehow.
Like if you drink drive, they need a breath or blood test, they can't fine someone saying we think you're over the legal limit.
Watching a building from an undercover car doesn't prove anything.
So how does it work? How can they make any arrest or fine people without proof?

Well you heard all the escorts on here themselves 'they don't do freebies' so work the rest out for yourself
