I think my biggest problem was not noticing who is genuinely being my friend. Being let down a few times made me push everyone away. I preferred being on my own and I always had an excuse for not going out. I quit football, basketball, judo and tennis. I slowly replaced these with spending more and more time in front of my pc.

As they say — it's not the quantity of friends you have, it's the quality of friends you have that's important!

It isn't always easy to distinguish between those who want you only for what you can do for them compared to those who genuinely like you for who you are and treat you as an equal. However as time passes and issues arise the difference will become very obvious but by this time you will feel like a fool for having misplaced your good judgement in the first place — you shouldn't! It's not your fault that someone decided to take advantage of your good nature!

That may be the case but atleast here you know you are paying for a service. To me its different to being taken for a fool by someone you considered a close friend

Well, that's the nature of the business. It's not that people are deliberately out to deceive others on the basis to pretend to be your friend! (well, some will try and deceive you big time but thankfully they are in the minority) We pay for the time and companionship of he ladies and part of that is also a fantasy that these ladies really like you — it just wouldn't work it this was not the case.

While you may say "There are no true friends on here" and I have to agree in the main but sometimes you will get a real surprise.

Every now and then someone will stand out and either offer or actually do something for you that means a lot to you at the time. It's happened to me and I have to say I have been taken aback when it has happened.

That can be hard, and you will get some downs but believe me far more ups. If you had friends, then what's to stop you making new ones? Nothing it is only a state of mind, you need to get out and forget about pc for awhile, if girls on here help then go for it, but you need real people to talk to, and remember if they don't reciprocate your friendship then was not to be so screw them and move on ( not literally screw) . You will soon figure them out . Take care man and chin up.
