    Shalom/salaam.
10,000 years of Middle Eastern civilisation and the place is not at peace but rather in pieces.

AFAIK it's HMRC (tax authorities) that are clamping down on the sex for sale industry. The famous Sandys in Manchester was closed last year for tax reasons. Sandy's was most likely tax compliant as it obeyed rules to the last, but some of the ladies with regards to their own tax payments might have been a bit lax. Apparently, as they sometimes do here wrt to regular businesses, tax officials cased the joint outside with the famous clicker, basically registering a click each time a client went in and then guestimated tax payable!
The tax authorities in England have certainly visited many lapdancing outlets recently and basically ordered the management to make a note of each time a lady does a private dance and for how long, they already will have the ladies social insurance numbers. They are now in the process of doing this with brothels.
Essentially they are clamping down on all cash in hand businesses. There is even an anecdotal story, probably true, that they sent an official in undercover to pose as a taxi driver in London and he went through the toughest academic test of them all, learning the infamous 'knowledge' test as part of the operation!
BTW in the context of brothel raids in England unless there is an extinuating circumstance such as a strong sion, underage sex or drugs on the premises, the usual procedure is clients are told to leave, the ladies may be questioned briefly, but any person involved in the running of it and that includes receptionists are most likely arrested.
When the Sandys Branch was raided (both are now closed), the tax authorities accompanied by police went in at around 9.30 am, deliberately avoiding the ladies and any clients as opening time was 10.30 am.
The police in Britain often visit brothels to check IDs and social security numbers of the ladies, but not to stop regular business.
One positive thing is that though, current home secretary, Amber Rudd, is an anti the sex industry, The current PM, Mrs. May is well known to be genuinely sympathetic to the plight of sex workers. Jeremy Corbyn is also on record as opposing the Nordick Model, mind you some of his radickal feminists would introduce it in a heartbeat!
    Ride them on the beaches!

Brothels was always hit anyway in England and was increasing over the years, Sandys protrayed a great professional image but like all theres alot more going on there beneath the surface, its a crackdown on organised crime and the pop up brothels scandal did not help matters with putting it in the spotlight and authorities left with no option but to do something

I was abroad for a few months and did not realise that this had been passed. The last I read was that this would not come through until the autumn.

I'm done with it - for a while anyway, until I see how the land lies.
