Why don't they just do it the old fashioned way. Then there won't be any shortage of willing donors.

Licenced fertility clinics in Britain limit the no of children a single donor can father.
Then there was the doctor in a US clinic used his own sperm to father children, in dubious ethics.
Another guy in America, who lives in a camper van by the beach is supposed to have fathered over a hundred children. By donation.
Unlicenced donation, disease risks, and possibility of siblings going on to have children together unknowingly.

I've a friend who has started the process (to be continued once she has another medical issue sorted), obviously top of the list is low history of genetic disorders/potential future health issues, family history of cancer etc. Last deciding factor is aesthetics, although I can only speak in her case, I'm sure there are more vain people out there that would value looks over potential future health.

Unlike eggs which do not change, sperm can alter every 16 days, so as males grow older sperm becomes not so good.
After the age of 50 the sperm has possibly undergone several mutations.
In other words men also have a sort of biological clock.
