Default The big question: Assuming they started in Leith...

where were The Proclaimers actually walking to?

or, do you suppose they didnt really mean theyd do all that walking and just get the bus and when they get there just run around a bit til they got all sweaty?

did she really want to be the woman of a man who walked a thousand miles just to fall down at her door?

never really thought about how deep this song is.

was it all just lies, hyperbole and disinterest?

If they were sending home a letter from America, they had a long way to walk (or wwim) to reach that door.

Laura, how did you come up with this one? Maybe they had anticipated the Channel Tunnel opening and were gonna do a reverse asylum seeker?

Good to see something different girl ;-)

didnt come up with it. i saw the pic and was gunna post it. but really, it opened up too many questions for me.

like did this woman send them out on the walk? i will marry you if you walk a thousand miles and fall down on my door. or did she say it in a way that she didnt think either of them would do it? so they went off and came back and shes like "well, eh, while you were out walking i met jack and jack lives here now. jack says get up off the ground, good lads"

so many angles. its a deeply layered song and the picture just brought to mind all the different things that could be going on here and we just like roaring it when were pissed.

    and thank you ;p
