    In Limerick the vast majority(even those in their early twenties) say thanks to the city bus drivers when exiting the bus. And it is still extremely common on Bus Eireann buses .
    I was surprised by the above tbh.
    Last time I was in Dublin I knew a bus route went to my destination but was unsure of the distance so hopped on the bus and asked the driver who was non-local about the place I was going. He replied in a warisome and wearisome voice, saying '' I don't understand you''.
    So I said fair enough and sat down.
    Turns out it was only a couple of minutes walk anyway.
