I don’t know that I ever asked that. If I did, it was so long ago that I don’t remember. Maybe I should call somebody and pretend to be a newbie??

What they mean is that they don't know what to expect, maybe even what they want, how they will perform, if they will perform, if they will enjoy it......

I'd say "it's cool, let's just take it slowly and see how it goes"

I can remember mine--it was 10 years ago this xmas---still remember it well lol

all i expected was for her to be polite and say thats fine we'll go at your pace and your limit
