    with 400.000 plus people expected to ennis over august 14-22 im expecting a huge amount of escorts in the town, anyone have any updates escorts coming etc?

    But I guess, the knowlege of the Irish language is limited especially, up there.
    Ennis comes from the Irish word 'inis' which has also been turned into 'inch' in English.

    Inis can be used to mean 'island' but it alse means low, lying, marshy land beside water (sea, lake or river)
    In the case of Ennis, Co. Clare, beside the river Fergus, presumably.
