Thread: Cancelling an appointment at the last minute

  1. Question Cancelling an appointment at the last minute

    Hi everyone,

Longtime user, first-time poster. I was in an awkward situation this evening and I want to post about it because I think itís important.

I made an appointment to meet a girl tonight at eight. I wonít name the girl, the name doesnít matter. I rang her an hour ahead of time, made the appointment and she texted on the address. Great.

I went to the address for eight and rang again. She answered, and said sheíd text on the house number. And then I got concerned.

I texted her a shit cancellation excuse and got an angry text back, which is fine. The excuse was shit. Iíd be angry too. The real reason I cancelled is because I was worried that the girl Iíd meet wouldnít be the girl Iíd been talking to on the phone.

That happened me once before and I hated it. I had no idea if the girl wanted to be there or not, and that isnít right.

So I backed out. If youíre the girl in question and Iíve misjudged your situation, Iím very sorry. This is my real reason. I know itís a pain for girls when people make hoax appointments, or donít show up, or mess around like that. But if the situation repeated Iíd do what I did again, rather than go through with an experience that I had doubts about. Iím interested in other peopleís thoughts on this.

I don't understand that everything was ok till she gave you house number and you were afraid it might not
be the girl on the phone? How did you come to that conclusion?

    Cold feet..??
Tbh in that mindset I think you gotta go to the door & make sure..?

+ how many reviews did she have? I've had the old bait n switch even when they had a few reviews, but there's just no way to know til they open the door.
Maybe instead of a lame excuse honesty might've been the best policy, that you'd changed your mind?

Well its your money your choice but I would say you are a tad nervous, so maybe get a few massage from girls
and that will get you used to visiting and might relax you a bit. It is not nice for the girl as she is trying to make
a living and guys calling off app at last minute for no reason is hard on girl.

Think of it from our point of view. Now there is a unknown person who has the exact address of where the person is working. As far as they are concerned you are a location seeker and never intended to see her, but get you jollies by making her worried for the rest of her time in that location. It's a shitty thing to do and you should be ashamed of yourself.

The right thing to do would have been to go there and see for yourself and simply tell the person why if you felt the need to leave at that point (ie not the person you thought you were seeing).

My question to you is that this is going to be the case every time you see someone you have not met before. You have no choice but to go through this and if it matters that much to you then take the steps that others do and use the information available to you to find out as much as you can about the person you want to meet.

What you did was not just cowardly, but unforgivable, as the person you mucked about may have been too scared to see anyone else after you.

The least you could do is apologies to them and let them know they are safe.

Yea I get that, that the girl is going in blind whereas at least the client has pics to go on.. I was just saying maybe honesty would be best policy instead of making a lame excuse..?? & I mean what if he/she had gotten to the door & it was a different person that advertised? It does happen.. It's surely ok then to walk away..??

Couldn't agree more Curvaceous Kate as that poor lady must be worried sick as now a stranger know her address and house number.
Even if he was nervous and I am shy also but I never done that and at least I would go and see her and reassure her that she know who made appointment..He should have a least go to door like you said.. And if anyone has doubt about booking..Cancelled well before appointment time as these Escort have tough life from people making hoax call...

Have you ever worked on contract? Your steady paycheck based on a temporary situation, where you bill the hours you work, and get paid only for those hours?

You're sick, no pay. You take a week off, no pay. Your employer decided he no longer needs you, no pay.

So while your hourly rate may be a bit higher, it doesn't mean you get a 40 hour paycheck at the end of the week.

I hope nobody ever promises you a contract and then renages at the last minute for no good reason.
