Default maggots- how should they be handled?

luther brought up a mods dilemma

    https://www.escort-ireland.com/boards/70299-post20.html

basically as a moderator i moved the thread because if a thread is about or involves a maggot then they have the right of reply in soap-opera, thats my opinion.

    comments welcome

If a post is a direct comment about a "maggot" then the "maggot" has a right to defend/speak up for themselfs. Moving the post across did 2 things. It gave the "maggot" a chance to defend himself and to express his side but it also avoided another thread being created on the same subject and the same topic being discussed all over the shop.
I think in this case Pats Bodyguard did the right thing... it may not have been the correct thing but in my humble opinion it was the only way to handle it.

another thing i can do is copy threads so that there is the same thread in each section. would that be a good alternative to just transfering them?

I think that would just make the thread harder to follow to be honest..

I think only in the odd occasion this should be done to move threads. There would be too many duplicate threads and would be hard to follow.

It could happen to any of us.
