It just shows how much modding is working when you see how the list scandal was handled here. There was no big bust ups compared to IIE. Before modding there was bitching here every other day about any subject under the sun.

Yes folks, as with most things, I have a theory as to why the reactions of the E-I members were markedly different to those of the IIE membership regarding the list scandal. Firstly if you look at the advertising rate structure, you will see that IIE is more attractive for many touring escorts. IIE charges a touring escort 130 Euro for any tour of up to one month in duration, whereas E-I charges 100 Euro per week of the tour. Secondly, if you look at the profile of escorts on both sites, IIE has a very small number of resident escorts and a substantially larger number of touring escorts at any given time. E-I on the other hand, has far more resident escorts. Thirdly, from my recollection, all the escorts involved in this list are touring escorts from IIE and they actually discussed setting up this list on the IIE private escort forum. Add to this the fact the IIE offers a 10 Euro discount to clients who book an escort on line.

So I would suggest that a much higher proportion of IIE members rely solely or partly on these touring escorts for their jollies and therefore a greater proportion of them should feature on the list.

The other reason of course is that this topic has been running over there since at least the 13th December and was building up a head of steam as people worked themselves up into a lather. Apart from the recession/escort prices, this was probably the only thread of any significance over there for the past two months. Whereas over here, we were deflected by lizzy and the mods/free speach debate.

What really surprises me, is that even though Paws has been locked away in Soapland since the this scandal broke, he has remained as quite as a church mouse on such an important issue.

I think people didn't react as strongly here, although no doubt some here were affected, but it was seen as something that was going on over there, as in, it had been discused in the private forum and it was being "investigated" over there......

As for whether the mods had anything to do with the calmness or not, well I don't know but it certainly didn't hurt, I'm sure people are not going to go to the bother of posting nasty stuff or BS if they know it's just going to be removed......

Anon163, you know I hold your opinion in very high regard. Regards appointing QPH a mod, I would just like to say that I myself have felt like getting QPH and ramming a chill pill down his throat a few times in the past, but having thought about this seriously over the last week or so I think he really could make an excellent mod. I really wouldn't have made QPH a mod if I didn't think he was up to it. Think about it, or just wait and see, I think QPH could surprise anyone who thinks he's not up to it. Making bigpaws a mod on the otherhand would be a very bad move I think, because he may be smart, he may even be right a lot of the time, but he's a troublemaker at times too, and we can't have mods that are liable to start stirring shit at any time.

Thank you Patricia, I too value your opinion () and yes I can see where you are coming from as far as QPH is concerned but I won't deny I was disappointed to see you make this decision, as for me like Paws he has too much history with bad vibes on these boards to be made a Mod, but, now that you have made him a Mod I am more than willing to live and let live and see how he gets on, possible I can easily come to this decision as I would hope it will not effect my participation on these boards as I see no point in being confrontational in cyberspace, nor is it in my nature to be rude or too disrespectful to anyone's opinions, cyberspace or not.
