I would say that prostrate massage is when you stick your finger deeply in the anus until you find the prostrate and then massage it with your finger. Whilst fingering is just sticking your finger in and finger fucking his ass without actually touching or massaging the prostrate.
Both require the inserting of a finger. How else can you reach the prostrate if you don't stick a finger in lol?

Either way , wear a condom or better yet a rubber glove!
