He's a massive loss the to Irish squad as he was head of development. Not so much to Katie as she has her own training scheduals and routines, and she effectively a freak of nature. I think I read her dad is no longer in her corner for personal reasons, this may have being a factor. It might be a tall ask for her to retain her Olympic gold.

So Katie Taylor has become the latest Irish boxer to turn pro following on from Michael Conlon and Paddy Barnes. She had a marvellous amateur career despite the disappointments of recent months and will be trying to do the same in the paid ranks. Best of luck to her.
