He's a massive loss the to Irish squad as he was head of development. Not so much to Katie as she has her own training scheduals and routines, and she effectively a freak of nature. Yes she looks like she is past her best. She has been a great ambassador and a talented boxer. However, not sure she will win in Rio if she gets there. Indeed, there are many including myself who believe she was more than a shade lucky to win the gold medal bout in London.

The opponent who beat Taylor (Russian born, previously represented Ukraine, now fights for Azerbaijan)is experienced, no pushover, has a longer reach and a strong punch. They have fought before and one fight was decided on points-going to Taylor but with not a hair's breadth between them. Taylor moves on to the World Championship in a month. If she reaches the semifinals, she should go to Rio.
