Far less of an effect on society than Alcohol,politicians, people who try to shove their views down your neck, armed robbers, people who abuse other people,transnational corporations who avoid tax, poor schools and hospitals. Need I go on

I think people hold escorts as such a tabu but there's nothing wrong. It's only wrong cause fat cats are against it... and most of the time they fuel the industry. I completely agree with what you just said.
