That is the 50th pole of Lewis Hamilton’s F1 career.

He is only the third man in history to reach 50 pole positions, the other two are Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna.

Michael Schumacher achieved 68, while Ayrton Senna had 65.

Formula 1 is likely to abandon new qualifying system after just one try-out at the Australian Grand Prix.
It was not very popular with drivers or spectators.

Well, if no-one likes it why continue with it?
    Lesson for someone perhaps?

Good to see Fernando walking away from the crash on own feet.

I think they repeated the crash over 5 times, really cool to see it on slow mode but ... seems cars are much safer now than previous years, which is great news.

    So sorry for him

Nico Rosberg needs to win to put psychological pressure on Lewis Hamilton.
    He should, barring mechanical problems
Sebastian Vettel 2.4s behind Hamilton and lapping eight tenths of a second quicker than him.
